Like many State schools Strathmore Secondary College has a multi-purpose hall. However the bulding was no longer used to capacity and the decision was taken to remove the front and renovate the rest to become a Drama and Music Centre. The new facade takes on the appearance of a preying mantis with entry doors in the position of the creature's mouth. As with other examples of 'fiction architecture' at Strathmore, a pretence is the starting point of the architectural form making.
